Number Facts … at your Fingertips!
Press the Start button and a question tile begins to fall into a grid. While the tile is falling, the player tries to work out and enter the answer. If the player answers correctly the tile turns red. If the time beats the player or if a wrong answer is entered the tile turns blue. Three reds in a row and the player has won. Three blues in a row and the computer has won.

Players can select the operation (+, –, × or ÷) as well as the difficulty level of the questions and the speed at which they want to play - novice, intermediate, expert or super-expert. We call this game Fingertips because that is where we want students to have their basic number facts ... at their fingertips.

Why is there a Pause button? In the early stages of building fluency and confidence, the Pause button enables a parent/teacher to discuss what strategy would be good to use to find the answer. Having a strategy moves the emphasis away from simple recall and towards productive mental computation.

Setting the game’s speed to super-expert and selecting the higher of the two levels results in quite a challenge; so much so that some adults have been using the game as brain training.
